Chartreuse
Chartreuse is a breed of shorthair cats with a blue color. Cats of this breed have a broad rounded head, which is located on a fairly strong muscular neck. Chartreuse is a national French breed that developed naturally in France. In the sixteenth century, the Chartreuse cat was described as “a Syrian cat with a true fleece.” Already at that time, these cats were valued not only as excellent rat catchers, but also for their amazing fur. With its name, the Chartreuse cat is obliged, according to legend, to the Cartesian monks who brought these cats out of the Crusades, after which they were bred in one of the monasteries.
Chartreuse breed is quite old and in France it has existed for a long time. Cats of this breed belong to the average format, their size varies from medium to larger. Looking at this animal, one gets the impression of a powerful and rather strong constitution, since Chartreuse is a breed of cats with a truly powerful body structure.
The cat Chartreuse is particularly powerful and massive. These are amazing strong animals with broad shoulders, deep breasts and a fairly straight back. Chartreuse cats have medium length, which can even be called short, legs. Their fur is rather short, shiny, and due to its density and smoothness, it prevents the penetration of moisture.
The Cartesian Chartreuse has an amazing color that includes all shades of blue. The most important thing that should be noted when speaking about coloring is its monotony, that is, whatever shade the wool of this animal has, its color will be uniform. Chartreuse kittens, when they are born, have tabby marks, which in the process of growth and maturation gradually disappear.
Chartreuse cats or Cartesian cats have a fairly balanced disposition, distinguished by their calm and independence. In addition, they have a fairly strong character. Chartreuse perfectly feel alone and do not need constant care of his master. It is quite simple to care for them, it is necessary only to brush their thick wool every week.
