Egyptian Mau

Egyptian cat or Egyptian Mau includes the breed of short-haired cats. This breed was bred in America in the 50s of the last century, for which street Cairo cats were used. Perhaps, at one time, this breed served as a symbol of worship for the ancient Egyptians, since the forehead of this animal is still decorated with a characteristic pattern depicting a scarab beetle. Up to and in terms of its external features, the Egyptian Mau looks like an ancient Egyptian cat.

The Egyptian cat breed is a fairly slim and elegant animals with a fairly muscular body structure. Adult cats of this breed have a powerful nape and strong shoulders. Egyptian cat Mau is quite large in size, obliquely set eyes green, yellow or walnut color. In addition, the Egyptian Mau cat breed has thin, graceful, oval-shaped legs, while the hind legs are much longer than the front ones. The ears of these animals are quite large, pale pink in color and in some cases they can be decorated with charming tassels.

Egyptian cat Mau has a rather thick, silky hair, which is much longer when compared with Siamese or Oriental cats. If you look at how an Egyptian cat looks black, then this is a truly royal breed, what is called the Egyptian sphinx cat, able to attract the attention of many lovers.

To date, only three colors are recognized: silver, bronze and smoke. Also, if there is still a black color (completely black smoke, no spots), but this color is not involved in breeding and exhibitions. In this case, it should be borne in mind that all these spots have a rather elongated shape, which in turn also serves as a characteristic feature of this breed. If we talk about the eyes of the breed, in almost all varieties they have the same color of green gooseberry, although the Egyptian Mau kittens do not always have the same eye color.

The breed is distinguished by its friendly temper. Such cats will easily get along in any family, as they can quickly make contact with any member. In addition, the cat breed Mau does not tolerate loneliness, and caring for her. Will not make any difficulties for its owner.
